*Sometimes this talkgroup is used whenever Joplin PD and
Jasper County officers work together. This patch allows interagency
transmissions between trunked and VHF systems.
**Whenever a fire dispatcher pages METS, TG 4855 is used
even though you may hear the transmission on 5360. TG 4855 keeps the
repeater from being tied up with two separate
transmissions.
Here is some additional
information:
1. Joplin is planning a digital
upgrade in the future; I do not know whether it will be APCO-25
compliant.
2. Officers assigned to special operations, investigations, and
supervision have access to a VHF frequency for inter-agency
communications.
3. The Joplin Police Department has public outreach programs and
welcomes inquiries from the public. If you desire more information
about police operations, contact the department to learn more about
community policing and crime prevention programs.
4. Visit http://www.mokanscan.com to see more local
frequencies. There is also scanning information for other locations
in Kansas and Missouri.
5. For even more talkgroups, visit the Joplin public safety page at
radioreference.com.
6. Some talkgroup information provided by Andy Gabbert.
