Miscellaneous Information-New Information as of 10 June
2006
1. The new combined Memphis and Shelby County system is
active. This system can be monitored with an APCO-25 digital
scanner. Visit my SCSO page for links to two very informative
websites that give more information.
2. A Memphis firefighter informed me that all EMS apparatus
has mobile data terminal units onboard with GPS (global positioning
systems) capability. Plans call for all FD appartus to eventually
have MDTs with GPS.
3. The Collierville LTR trunked system is operational, but
there is no scanner that can monitor LTR systems. The problem isn't
because it's E F Johnson system; it's because it utilizes LTR
(logical trunked radio) protocols. (The PRO-92 can monitor E F
Johnson systems.)
